Wild Rover Transport Co. is no ordinary transportation company. We offer a unique experience with our completely refurbished 1960s VW bus. Our mission is to provide an unforgettable journey for our guests as they explore the beauty of northern Michigan.
Our Story
Hitting the road in June of 2026!
Wild Rover Transport Co. has been a long-standing dream and passion of our owner, Makenna Morton. Makenna moved to Northwest Michigan with her family in March of 2023 and as she started to put roots down in the community and enter the local hospitality scene as a bartender, she couldn't help but notice the absence of safe, reliable transportation that would allow visitors to enjoy all this area has to offer.
Never one to be satisfied by the bare minimum, she furthered her vision to include the ability to deliver a one-of-a-kind experience to visitors of Northern Michigan, and her research began to find the perfect vehicle to make it a reality.
Through her research, Makenna found USA Custom Bus and reached out to get more information about restoring and rebuilding a vintage VW Recreation Bus to bring up north. Conversations progressed until her desire to make her dreams a reality could no longer be shuddered, and she committed to the purchase of her own custom bus in September of 2025.
At present, the bus is being customized to her exact vision. It is about a six- or seven-month building process, and then the bus will leave Pompano Beach, Florida and head just about as far north as one can go in the continental US to find its permanent home in the Petoskey area. The use of the word "fleet" hints at the vision of the future of Wild Rover Transport Co., that bus one is to become one of several to be out in our beautiful area helping our guests create unforgettable memories to last a lifetime.
